Current TV Hires Ex-CNN Executive
Current TV has hired David Bohrman as their new president. Bohrman was an executive at CNN and he is very happy to be joining his new bosses, Al Gore, who is the chairman, and Joel Hyatt, who is the CEO of Current TV.
The news station has grown very rapidly thanks to the hiring of Keith Olbermann, who is the Chief News officer and hosts his own prime time show.
Current’s mission is to shine a beam on all the important issues, to speak the truth and to spark debate, according to Al Gore. He states that with the hiring of Keith, our intent is to be conflict free and a true independent progressive voice in the arena of political commentary and news.
Gore says that David Bohrman shares Current’s vision and was born an innovator. He has very unique qualifications and has the relationships to take the news station to a brand new level, when it comes to programming and production.
Current has changed a few times in their programming mission since it began back in 2005. It has now put itself right in the middle of political and social issues.
Bohrman thinks that today, audiences demand more intelligent discourse, rather than shouting. People want to be apart of the discussion rather than being passive outsiders. He believes that Current can be a seriously vital medium for the new breed of smart viewers.
The new president will work closely with his new bosses in goal to make Current TV the best and most innovative source of news debate and commentary in the business.
