New Economy Initiative is Awarding $3 million to Southeast Michigan Through the Business Accelerator Network
A New Economy Initiative is headed to Southeast Michigan which will enable innovative efforts to speed up the transition to an innovative-based economy in metro Detroit. They will receive $3 million dollars in a grant over the next three years that will support the Business Accelerator Network, which is a newly formed company, in southeast Michigan.
Comprised of 4 key business accelerators for the region- Automation Alley, TechTown, Ann Arbor SPARK and Macomb-OU UNCubator- Southeast Michigan’s Business Accelerator Network will work together in order to share the very best practices, host events that are focused on solutions that will impact southeast Michigan, leverage funding that will help to grow business around the area and help sponsor business plan development.
All together, these 4 business accelerators are investing $18 million dollars, to help 339 start-ups. They have created over a 1,000 jobs and collected additional capital for companies in excess of $101.2 million.
Creating Southeast Michigan’s Business Accelerator Network allows for an expansion of recent interactions that are among the partners. This opens the door for a lot of new business opportunities. Southeast Michigan will be known as a center of technology excellence.
The New Economy Initiative, which has ten foundations, is meeting their goals while showing great initiative is using all their resources to help encourage collaboration in the region.
