Obama To Lay Out Jobs Plan On Same Night As GOP Debate
The Republicans are upset again with President Obama. This time for releasing his jobs plan on the same night as the GOP debate, which is scheduled for September 7th. The White House claims that it is just a coincidence.
Tim Miller, who is the spokesman for Republican nominee Jon Huntsman, said that the President’s decision to unveil his plan the same night is a purely political move. Reince Priebus, who is the National Chairman of the Republican Party, said it is a desperate political maneuver that will not work.
White House spokesman, Jay Carney says the decision on when to release the jobs plan had nothing to do with the GOP debate and it was never taken into consideration. He also added that if the Republicans decided to move their debate to another night, they would have no problem with it.
The debate is co-hosted by NBC news and POLITICO, and they have said that the debate will not be postponed. There has been no decision on whether they will change the time of the debate, which is currently scheduled at the same time as the President’s unveiling.
Many Democrats agreed with the President for choosing the right time for him to address the people on a very important jobs package. They also added that it would be very easy to move the GOP debate starting time back a little while, saying that this debate is just one of many that will take place.
