Recall Elections Start In Wisconsin
One Democratic Senator was victorious in his recall vote and two other will face Republican challengers in another battle on August 16.
People on both sides of the isle are predicting record turnouts. Board officials, who work for State Government Accountability, will not release turnout projections because of the hard to predict nature of these types of elections.
There have only been twenty recall elections that have been recorded in the U.S. since 1908. There will be nine recall elections alone this year in the state of Wisconsin. They are expected to have at least the same amount of voters as they did in the gubernatorial election back in November.
The people in Wisconsin have been waiting for these recall elections for a long time. Many residents are very upset with Scott Walker, who is the Republican Governor of the state. Scott lied to the state when he took away workers rights in a huge union battle that has polarized the citizens.
Governor Walker is continuing his constant attack on the middle class, such as policemen, firefighters and teachers, while taking away their right to bargain. What has the masses extremely upset is Walker gave no indication of his plans for this type of assault.
Now it is up to the people of Wisconsin who are motivated to turn things around. They hope that today they began the fight to take back their state.
