Rick Perry Pushes Bill That Benefits His Doctor’s Firm
Texas Governor and Republican hopeful for President Rick Perry, has a reputation of helping his friends who contribute money and donations to his PAC and campaign. Perry, who participated in an experimental injection that contained his own stem cells to help relieve his back pain, is being attacked for pushing a bill through in June that will provide funds for a company co-owned by his doctor that will be the first in Texas to store and grow stem cells for treatment and experiments.
Celltex Therapeutica Corp, which is a Houston company and co-owned by Rick Perry’s doctor, Stanley Jones, is about to receive a financial bonanza because of Gov. Perry’s influence. Mr. Jones owns the company along with Perry’s longtime contributor and strategic advisor for his Presidential run, David G. Eller.
The measure was easily adopted because there were not any public hearings on the subject. This was done as quiet as possible without informing the citizens of Texas. This is another example of how Rick Perry has been taking care of his friends for a long time now. If he does win the GOP nominee, he will have a lot of explaining to do for the help he has given to his contributors.
Rick Perry has stated that this will only help the people because it is innovative and has been known to work, but only the heavily insured and the wealthy will be able to take advantage of the stem cell progress. Texas has one of the worst percentages of people with no health care. The less fortunate of us will be left out again.
