Sheen’s Back on a New T.V. Sitcom
All the earlier reports about Charlie Sheen making a comeback on Prime-time television is apparently true. Monday morning TMZ reaffirmed that the actor will be starring in a new sitcom with Lionsgate called Anger Management.
The new sitcom is based on the 2003 hit of the same name. Sheen’s role will be playing a therapist that is very similar to Jack Nicholson’s in the movie. Sheen is not just acting in the sitcom, he will also have a very valuable ownership stake in the debuting series.
Sheen chose Anger Management because it’s a great concept and not a huge stretch for him considering what has taken place in the past months from his removal as Charlie on Two and a Half Men. Sheen also said that it will provide him with some real ownership and some creative control. He will also be back on T.V. with Joe Roth, one of his all time favorite movie producers.
Sheen will be trying to steal the thunder away from Ashton Kutcher’s first show on Two and a Half Men by having his celebrity roast on Comedy Central at the same time. The roast will be taped on September 8, but not released until the 19th. Sheen has admitted to giving the roasters lots of ammunition these past months in an event where nothing is off limits.
Sheen is hoping that this comeback will be a way for him to take his acting to a new level. He still has a bitter taste in his mouth about how things ended on Two and a Half Men, but is looking towards the future to be part of another blockbuster show.
